Right now the waiting list for the choir is open to Altos, Tenors and Basses. So if you sing one of those parts and would like to join, please get in touch!
We’re very sorry that we can’t accept any Sopranos at the moment, but please keep an eye on the website for when a spot opens up.
In the meantime, we’d love to have you join us at one of our concerts. You can find all the details of our upcoming events on the homepage.
-
Absolutely! 😊 The choir has a diverse group of members from different backgrounds and abilities, many of whom joined having never sung in a choir before! You don’t need any musical experience or to be able to read music.
N.B. The waitlist is currently only open to Altos, Tenors and Basses (sorry Sops!).

Everything from folk songs to musical theatre, classic soul to pop hits, and more. We love to mix it up, so there’s something in there for everyone.
-
If you’re an Alto, Tenor or Bass:
Click the red Contact Us button at the top of this page
We’ll then be able to put you on the waitlist and let you know when you can come in for a free taster session!
If you have a great time (and we think you will!) you’ll then be able to sign up and join us for all our rehearsals, socials and concerts.
If you’re a Soprano we’re really sorry but the waiting list is currently closed. We’re keen to keep the choir balanced so we can create the best sound possible, and so sadly that means we can’t take on any more high voices right now. However, please do check back as we will update the website as soon as a spot opens up.
-
Once a space opens up you will be able to join a free taster session. At the rehearsal, a member of the choir will greet you and introduce you to our director Alex.
He’ll then explain the different harmony parts and help you with where you might fit. He and the other members will be there to answer any questions you may have. You can participate as much or as little as you want – we just want you to have a great time!
-
Everything! Membership includes access to at least 40 rehearsals, as well as at least three performance opportunities per year.
You will also be given access to an online Dropbox containing resources for many of the songs we are learning.
There will be regular social events and workshops, as well as different concerts and collaborations throughout the year.
-
Membership of the choir is £35 per month, payable via Direct Debit. The annual cost of membership is split evenly over 12 months.
The payment will be taken safely and securely through GoCardless which is sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland and is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Once the payment system is set up, the payments will just come out monthly on a fixed date. Our membership terms and conditions can be found here.
Current members can set up their go cardless payment in the members area.
-
No – we only offer membership via monthly subscription. To deliver high-quality and engaging rehearsals and performances we need a certain level of commitment and continuity from everyone in the choir.
Paying per session isn't really an accurate representation of everything that Clapham Community Choir has to offer – there's so much more to being part of the choir than just attending the weekly rehearsals.
There are online resources to help you learn the songs, regular social events and workshops, as well as numerous performance opportunities and collaborations throughout the year. These are just some of the benefits of being a member of the choir. As a small organisation, we also need financial stability to continue providing you with the best musical experience possible!

Just get in touch via email
We ask that you give 30 days' notice before cancelling your Direct Debit.

Not at all! We have members from all over South London (and even north of the river!).
People come from places far and wide to sing with us, including Wandsworth, Brixton, Lambeth, Streatham, Balham, Tooting and Herne Hill, as well as other parts of London.
N.B. The choir and waitlist are currently full, so we are unable to take on any new members right now. Please keep an eye on the homepage for when it opens back up again.
-
Not at all! You don’t need to be able to read music to join the choir.
Adam works through the music with everyone at the same pace. Plus, practice tracks and word sheets are available to help you with learning pieces outside of choir rehearsals.
